Bomb Sniffing Dogs Not Working?
A new government investigation suggests the U.S. Transportation Security Administration may be wasting millions of taxpayers dollars on bomb sniffing dogs that can't detect bombs.
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is investigating the matter.
The cost of keeping the dogs on the governement's payroll is more than $100 million dollars.
The investigation also shows t-s-a officials are deploying dogs to high risk airports, but the dogs are being used for training or air cargo and not for passenger screening as intended.
And, it seems some of the dogs aren't detecting explosives when there are a lot of people and different smells around.
