"Save the Colonel"
People in Yakima are celebrating the anniversary of a historic monument today.
Today marks the 111th year since the statue of Colonel JJ Weisenberger was erected in downtown Yakima.
People were holding a fundraiser to help move the statue to the Yakima Valley Museum -- after years of wear and tear on the monument.
The group plans on replacing the statue with a new one, located at the intersection of Naches and Yakima Avenues.
