This weekend’s Giant Book Sale by Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries will be readers’ last chance to load up on bargain books this year.

“We have many like-new hardcover books that are selling for very reasonable prices, many as low as one dollar. There are books for all kinds of readers, hardcover collectors, multi-genre readers and audiobook fans,” said Ruth Dupuis, President of Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries. The Friends’ volunteer group has been hard at work setting up thousands of books, audiobooks, and more for their biggest fundraiser.

The sale is a popular event for parents and educators who pounce on the kids’ and young adult books priced at 25 cents each. The semi-annual event provides a great value on books while also providing great value to local libraries.

“Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries fund important programs that we can’t otherwise provide through public funds. They dedicate their time and efforts to raise over $30,000 per year to support our libraries. By purchasing books, shoppers are helping support local libraries,” said Kyle P. Cox, Executive Director for Mid-Columbia Libraries.
