KENNEWICK -- More than 30 cars in Kennewick are vandalized on Halloween night, possibly because the owners weren't handing out any candy.
Kennewick police say residents in several neighborhoods woke up Sunday morning to find their car tires slashed and windows and mirrors broken.
The crimes were committed between 16th and 23rd Avenue, and between South Beech and Rainier Street.
Residents say they were either not home or were not passing out candy.
"This is just strictly damage, not sure why Halloween becomes the holiday of choice for people to just go out and cause havoc and cause damage to other people's property, but that seems to be the case" said Ken Lattin, Kennewick Police Department.
Lattin says there are no suspects right now.
But he believes whoever vandalized the cars has committed similar crimes before and may strike again.
