Mixed Berries with Orange Sabignon

2 1/2 cups fresh mixed berries

3/4 cup low fat milk

1/2 cup nonfat half and half

2 large egg yolks, beaten

3 TBSP Splenda or Sugar Substitute

2 TeaSP cornstarch

3/4 TeaSP vanilla extract

1/2 TeaSP orange zest

Fresh mint for garnish


1. Evenly distribute the berries among 4 serving dishes.  Place in refrigerator to chill until serving.

2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the remaining ingredients.  Whisking constantly, cook 5 to 6 minutes, or until custard is thick enough to coat a spoon.

3. Pout 1/4 cup of the custard sauce over each serving of berries, garnish with mint and serve.
